Zuurstof Tekort als Motor

Coming months we will be building an installation on the water for a floating festival. Known as Bosch Parade: https://boschparade.nl

This year the topic is “Mankement als motor” is the theme of 2026, therefore we decided to work on the topic of “breathing shortage as motor”. Since oxygen and breath can been seen as the motor of the body.

This topic started because of blowing glass with an oxygen concentrator. Before we would buy an oxygen bottle and let it be refiled, until someone told me it can be done with an oxygen concentrator. This machines takes oxygen out of the air and compresses it. This creates a bit lower flame then 100% oxygen, but it still creates a hot enough flame.
We will be developing a video and installation in the hospital in Den Bosch where people will be interviewed about how they relate to breathing https://www.jeroenboschziekenhuis.nl.

Another partner is TU Delft, a group of students will think and experiment along on the material of glass https://www.emergencedelft.nl.

Emergence Delft is a student led organisation focussing on combining science with art and design, to come up with new inspiring works.
