Life Cycle Forest

* made on a foggy morning in the forest in February 2026

The last years we have been listening with interest to the various stories people told us about the human - forest relationship.
We are collecting these stories for new inspiration for workshops with the term Life Cycle Forest.

“Here in the forests around Mt. Fuji there is monoculture of pine trees. With Mt Fuji wood culture society we cut down the overgrown matsu (pine) trees in the forest and cut them with the saw mill.”
Says Tak Yoshino. We listen carefully what he has to say about his relation to the forest. They are replanting broad leaf trees (deciduous tree) back on their land. One of the ways to relate to the forest is to keep the craft of slow wood working alive, with hand tools. Tak Yoshino develops special chairs that help with a healthy posture for perfect breathing and zen meditation.
